Walk-in Lab Tests

After your doctor orders a lab test, visit any of our locations during normal business hours. Most of our tests are offered on a walk-in basis. We’ll perform your test and get you on your way as quickly as possible.

When to Make an Appointment

  • You’ll need an appointment only if your doctor orders one of the following tests:
  • Cosyntropin (Cortrosyn)/ACTH stimulation
  • Low dose ACTH
  • Standard glucose tolerance
  • Lactose tolerance

What to Bring

Lab tests are only available with a doctor’s order. If the physician who ordered your test is an AnMed provider, we’ll have access to the order through our electronic medical records system. If the doctor who ordered your result is not an AnMed provider, bring a copy of the test order to the lab.

You’ll also need to bring your insurance card.

If you’re visiting us for a glucose tolerance test, you’ll need to stay in the building for several hours. You may want to bring a book, magazine or laptop computer.

How to Prepare for Your Lab Test

Your doctor will tell you how to prepare for your test. For some blood tests, you’ll need to stop eating and drinking several hours before your test. For accurate, reliable results, follow the instructions you’re given.

How to Get Your Test Results

When your test results are ready, we’ll share them with your doctor. He or she can help you understand the test results and explain any next steps.

If you’re an AnMed patient, you also can view your test results on MyChart.
