Patient Navigation

The Patient Navigator Program at AnMed Health Cancer Center links a specially-trained registered nurse with patients and their families to guide them through a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Patient navigators offer:

  • An orientation to cancer services - Patient navigators assist with scheduling appointments, coordination of support services, and communication among care providers.

  • Education - In addition to serving as a resource herself, the patient navigator can recommend cancer education resources, many of them free of charge in the Cancer Learning Center.

  • Financial guidance - Patient navigators work with each patient to arrange various forms of assistance based on each patient's financial situation.

  • Access to psychosocial support - AnMed Health has oncology and spiritual counselors available for patients and their families. To reach the oncology counselor, please call (864) 512-4961. To reach a spiritual counselor, please call (864) 512-1000.

  • Community resources - Patient navigators encourage patients to take advantage of every opportunity available to them, from support groups and counseling to events sponsored by local non-profit agencies.

Patient navigators are available to help all cancer patients. To learn more, please call (864) 512-4636.
