MyChart Frequently Asked Questions

What is MyChart?

The MyChart patient portal offers patients personalized and secure online access to portions of their medical records. It enables you to securely manage and receive information about your health online. With MyChart, you make or request appointments, view your health summary & test results, obtain prescription refills, and communicate non-urgent messages with your medical care team.

Is there a fee to user MyChart?

MyChart is a free service offered to our patients.

How do I sign up?

  • Visit http://mychart.anmedhealth.org and click "Sign Up Now."
  • If you have been given a MyChart activation code after discharge during a hospital stay or during your appointment with your physician, then enter it along with the other profile information. If not, then click "Sign Up Online" and provide the required information.
  • Once your identification is verified, you will be logged into MyChart. If you have any questions, please contact our MyChart Patient Support Line at 864-512-3742

Can I access MyChart on my mobile device?

Yes. After opening a MyChart account, you can download the MyChart app onto your mobile device for even quicker access. Be sure to select AnMed as your medical center.

When can I see my test results in MyChart?

Your test results are released to your MyChart account generally within 1-3 days.

Why are certain test results not shared electronically via My Chart?

Your provider determines which types of test results are available through MyChart. Further, tests of a very sensitive nature may not be released automatically to MyChart.

If I send a message to my doctor or nurse, when can I expect a reply?

You will generally receive an answer within 1-3 business days. Please note that MyChart should not be used for urgent situations. Please contact your physician office by phone if the situation requires immediate attention or dial 911 if there is an emergency.

What is a proxy account and how do I set one up?

A MyChart proxy account enables you to access another person’s MyChart account through your own account. To open a proxy account to access another adult’s information, you will need their permission or provide evidence of surrogate decision maker standing, such as a Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare, or some other statutory authorization, i.e., authority as described in the South Carolina Adult Health Care Consent Act or another state’s statutory equivalent, unless AnMed already has such evidence on file.

Proxy accounts also are a good way for parents to keep track of their children’s health information. Parents with more than one child can link all of their children’s MyChart accounts to their own through proxy access.

The first step in setting up a proxy account is to make sure both you and the other person have a MyChart account. To link your child’s account, ask the front office staff the next time you visit your pediatrician’s office. You also can do this for another adult whose account you wish to link to yours. Note that both parties may be required to be present to set up the proxy access.

Where can I update my personal information (e.g., home address, e-mail or change my password)?

Log in to MyChart and from the left menu, go to the Preferences section and select the appropriate option.

How is MyChart secure?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Unlike conventional e-mail, all MyChart messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our website.

What is your Privacy Policy?

MyChart is owned and operated by MyChart and is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and e-mail address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by MyChart.

I was logged out of MyChart, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into MyChart, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of MyChart. We recommend that you log out of your MyChart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

What if I have a MyChart account at another facility?

Even if you have a MyChart account at another facility, you still need to create an AnMed MyChart account if you are an AnMed patient. However, you can easily link your accounts online through a MyChart tool called Lucy.
