UroLift® System

The UroLift System provides relief and recovery from BPH symptoms. It’s an early treatment option that can get you off BPH medications and help you avoid major surgery. The UroLift System has shown improvement for patients compared to medication use. According to the manufacturer, it is the only BPH procedure shown not to cause new and lasting erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction.

How Does the UroLift System Work?

This treatment uses small implants to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue so it no longer blocks the urethra. It is the only available BPH treatment performed by a urologist that does not require heating, cutting or removing the prostate tissue. You may receive this procedure using local anesthesia in a doctor’s office or outpatient surgery center. You can return home the same day without a catheter.

Do I Qualify for UroLift?

You may be a good candidate if you’re a man at least 45 years old who has symptoms of an enlarged prostate.

If you’re allergic to nickel, titanium or stainless steel, talk to your doctor about your allergy before getting a UroLift System treatment.

Recovery Period

You may start to feel relief in as little as two weeks. Most side effects are mild to moderate and include temporary pain or burning with urination, blood in the urine, pelvic pain and urgent need to urinate. Side effects usually go away within two to four weeks after the procedure.
