AnMed has been named among the nation’s 153 Great Community Hospitals by Becker's Hospital Review. AnMed’s exceptional standard of care, expansion of access to care for rural residents and training programs for nursing students, physician residents and sports medicine fellows were among initiatives touted by the editorial team at Becker’s, a leading provider of industry news and analysis.

AnMed is the only health system in the Upstate to earn the honor.

“I am very proud of our entire AnMed family for earning this prestigious honor,” said AnMed CEO William Kenley. “I know the kind of extraordinary care our team members provide, and to see them recognized for their dogged efforts and tireless focus is wonderful. Better starts here because of them.”

Hospitals were selected by the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team based on analysis of rankings and award agencies, including U.S. News & World Report's 2022-23 rankings, Healthgrades, CMS star ratings, The Leapfrog Group safety grades and The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

The full list of honored hospitals is posted at beckershospitalreview.com.

“The hospitals named on this list are leaders who show above-and-beyond commitment to their communities,” Becker’s said in announcing its honorees. “Their expertise helps expand care access to patients who would otherwise face barriers such as cost or distance.”
