Atrium Health

Atrium Health, one of the leading health care systems in the Carolinas, includes 30 affiliated hospitals in North and South Carolina.

Atrium Health employs more than 1,900 physicians and operates more than 650 care locations, including rehabilitation hospitals, nursing homes, physician practices, ambulatory surgery centers, home health agencies, radiation therapy centers and physical therapy facilities. Together, these operations comprise more than 6,200 licensed beds and employ more than 48,000 full-time and part-time employees.

Atrium Health’s flagship facility is Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) in Charlotte, an 874-bed hospital which includes a Level I trauma center, a research institute and a large number of specialty treatment units. CMC also serves as one of North Carolina’s five academic medical center teaching hospitals, providing residency training for more than 350 physicians in 15 specialties.

Established in 1947, AnMed Health Cannon is a 55-bed acute care facility in the foothills of Pickens, S.C. The hospital offers a full-range of state-of-the-art medical technology, equipment and services, along with three family physician practices, plus an orthopedic and a general surgery practice. More than 60 physicians have privileges at Cannon and nearly 300 people are employed by the organization.
