The AnMed Health Family Medicine Residency Program is a three-year, post-graduate program for physicians. Unlike other medical centers where family practice is just one of many residency programs, our residents enjoy primary access to training and the focused attention of our faculty.
The AnMed Health Family Medicine Residency Program is approved for 11 residents per year for a total of 33 residents. In our Family Medicine Center, with 24 exam rooms and four procedure rooms, we treat a large number of receptive and challenging patients. AnMed Health provides a breadth of education you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere else, as you will experience the entire spectrum of medicine, from labor and delivery to geriatrics and every life stage in between.
At AnMed Health, residents enjoy a safe, vibrant community with excellent weather and a supportive educational environment. Some graduates go on to fellowship, but many begin practicing family medicine in their own community.
Visiting Anderson is the best way to truly appreciate the clinical strength and collegial atmosphere in the AnMed Health Family Medicine Residency Program. However, in order to protect the health and well-being of our applicants, current residents, community, patients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, we've had to make some adjustments to our typical interview process. We're offering three options for those who would like a chance to meet with us and get to know more about our program:
1. Visit in person. If you plan to travel to Anderson, we would be glad to host you for a meal at a local outdoor restaurant. Please call or email at Christie.Glenn@anmedhealth.org at least three days before your planned visit. Although we are not able to provide tours of our facilities at this time, we would welcome the chance to meet with you.
2. Attend a Zoom Open House. We plan to offer two virtual open house events this fall -- one hosted by faculty and the other hosted by current residents. Call or email us Christie.Glenn@anmedhealth.org to register for one or both open house events.
Thursday, Oct. 1, 7:30-8:30 p.m. - Hosted by four faculty members
Thursday, Oct. 8, 7:30-8:30 p.m. - Hosted by four residents
3. Schedule a Conversation with a Faculty Member. Our faculty will be available for individual phone conversations with prospective students between September 28 and October 16. Click here to view the calendar: www.anmedhealth.org/residency-phone-calls
