Get Involved in Volunteering

Search Volunteer OpportunitiesAnMed Health offers a variety of volunteer opportunities at both campuses. Our needs are always changing. To see a list of current volunteer opportunities, search our online database or call 864.512.1263 to learn more about getting involved.

The areas our volunteers serve need ongoing assistance, so we ask volunteers to commit to at least six months of regular service. Most volunteers serve for four hours once a week, but this varies depending on the area.

We always consider volunteers' availability and interests when matching people with their assignments. The most important prerequisite is the desire to serve others. Orientation and training are provided for all volunteers.

"Those few moments with a family member waiting for their loved one make an impact." -Becky Cole, volunteer, hospitality cart

"It seems to help patients to have someone to talk to. It's good to know you can help them out in some way." -Ron Williford, volunteer, guest services

About the AnMed Health Auxiliary

AnMed Health Auxiliary

Volunteers are valued members of the AnMed Health Auxiliary, a 501(c) 3, not-for-profit organization. The Auxiliary's purpose is to support and promote AnMed Health's mission to "passionately blend the art of caring with the science of medicine to optimize the health of our patients, staff and community." The Auxiliary accomplishes this goal through the volunteer hours provided by our members, and through financial support of The AnMed Health Foundation. The Auxiliary raises funds by means of the operation of Something Special and Something Special Too gift shops and various other fund raising events. Most recently, the Auxiliary has provided financial support for the following:

  • simulation lab for MUSC AnMed Health Medical Student Education
  • new recliners for patient rooms
  • patient transport chairs for Outpatient Surgery
  • equipment for Pediatric Therapy Works
  • college scholarships for students pursuing health care careers
