Dr. John Saunders, Medical Director – Dr. Saunders is a graduate of Clemson University and the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Albany Medical Center in New York and an orthopedic hand and upper extremity fellowship at Wellspan Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. Dr. Saunders spent five months at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center and the University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Chris Clemow - Dr. Clemow has joined AnMed Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. He is board-certified with the American College of Sports Medicine as well as the American Board of Family Medicine. He has been with AnMed Health as the associate director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship since 2007 and served in faculty positions at MUSC AHEC Anderson and Clemson University. He also serves as the team physician at Westside High School and assistant team physician at Anderson University.
Dr. Charles Edsall – Dr. Edsall is a board certified family medicine physician who joined AnMed Health after completing a fellowship in sports medicine. Dr. Edsall has sprinted for Great Britain at the international level and for the University of Tennessee, where he won a team SEC indoor championship in 1996. He is passionate about treating both non-athletic and athletic injuries. Dr. Edsall also has a biomechanics lab where he performs video gait analysis.
Dr. Gretchen Hsu -- Dr. Hsu is board eligible for emergency medicine and sports medicine. She previously worked as an attending physician at Detroit Medical Center Huron Valley Hospital in Michigan where she provided care for numerous athletes and teams at all levels, including high school football, soccer, rugby, velodrome and roller derby. She also provided sports medicine services directly to the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.
Dr. Hunter Hsu -- Dr. Hsu is an orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in hip and knee replacements. He is board-eligible with the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Hsu completed his adult reconstruction fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital, and orthopedic surgery residency at McLaren Oakland Hospital where he was chief resident.
Dr. Andrea Pitts -- is board-certified with the American Board of Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Pitts completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship with AnMed Health Family Medicine Center, where she is currently a faculty member.
Dr. Joseph Pullekines – Dr. Pullekines is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He also completed a general surgery internship at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh and earned a Bachelor of Science in behavioral neurosurgery from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Jay Shah – Dr. Shah is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is also fellowship trained in sports medicine. Before coming to Anderson, Dr. Shah was in practice in Kentucky as an orthopedic surgeon with an emphasis in sports medicine. After receiving his medical degree with high distinction from the University of Kentucky, Dr. Shah completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Kentucky and a fellowship in sports medicine orthopaedic surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He served on the medical staff for the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Tech football and men’s basketball teams while at Emory.
Dr. Tyler Stone – Dr. Stone is a board-certified family medicine physician who joined AnMed Health after completing a fellowship in sports medicine. Prior to that, he studied medicine at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee and graduated summa cum laude from Clemson University. He is also passionate about providing non-surgical treatments for athletic and nonathletic injuries.
Dr. Kurt Yusi – Dr. Kurt Yusi is a fellowship trained, orthopedic traumatologist surgeon, specializing in the care of patients with severe musculoskeletal injures and post-traumatic bone problems. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Davidson College. He completed his medical training at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; orthopedic residency at the University of California, San Francisco; and a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is board eligible with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Tara Evans, NP – Evans is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in orthopaedics.
Erin Reid, DNP - Reid is a board-certified nurse practitioner who specializes in orthopaedics.
Rachel Stoner, PA – Stoner is a board-certified physician’s assistant who specializes in orthopaedics.
Priya Harper, PA-C - Harper is board-certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.
