Diagnosing Heart and Vascular Conditions

Heart and vascular conditions include a range of conditions that affect your heart and circulatory system. Our commitment to you begins with an accurate diagnosis at AnMed Health’s Heart and Vascular Center in Anderson. We use state-of-the-art imaging technology, as well as comprehensive physical exams, to assess the condition of your heart and develop the most effective treatment plan.

Your diagnosis may include three parts:

  1. Vascular score. This includes a set of three screenings that assess your heart and vascular health. These screenings look for signs of arterial disease, aortal aneurisms, and blockages in your carotid arteries. Our diagnostic standards have been accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission.

  2. Stress testing. We measure your heart’s response to exertion. A board-certified cardiologist will guide you through a series of exercises that measure how well your heart responds under pressure, which help us to identify areas of concern.

  3. Echocardiograms. These offer a more detailed look into your heart. A probe, called a transducer, passes over your chest to listen for the “echo” of your heart. The sound translates into images that show the size, shape, and function of your heart. This enables us to find potential problems in the chambers of your heart that could otherwise go undetected.
