Hip and Knee Surgery in Anderson, SC

The hip and knee are two of the largest weight-bearing joints in the body and they play a critical role in walking, sitting, standing and bending, which means pain in these joints can disrupt almost every aspect of your life. AnMed Health’s hip and knee specialists will focus on reducing your pain and restoring function using a wide array of surgical and non-surgical state-of-the-art techniques.

Hip and Knee Orthopedic Services

Our orthopedic surgeons are trained and experienced in the latest minimally-invasive techniques and technology, to help you get back to what you love quickly and with less pain. Our services include:

  • ACL Reconstruction – The ACL connects the front top of the tibia (lower leg), to the rear bottom of the femur (upper leg). If your ACL becomes damaged, this procedure will replace this important knee-stabilizing ligament.

  • Minimally Invasive Quad Tendon Harvesting – If you are considering using an autograft for your ACL reconstruction, AnMed Health offers minimally invasive quad tendon harvesting. Traditionally, harvesting the tendon from the quadriceps leaves a one to two inch scar. However, we are able to perform this procedure using minimally invasive techniques, which result in a much smaller scar and less discomfort during the healing process.

  • Total Joint Replacement – Total knee or hip replacement surgery removes damaged cartilage and bone from the joint and replaces it with an artificial implant. The goal is relieve your pain and get you back to living a normal, active life.

    • Anterior Hip Replacement - Our surgeons are experienced in the latest joint replacement techniques, including the anterior approach to hip replacement. By accessing the joint from the front, or anterior, side of the body rather than the back, there is less muscle damage, smaller incisions, less pain and shorter recovery.

  • Total Joint Academy – The AnMed Health Total Joint Academy is a program that brings all aspects of care related to joint replacement surgery under one roof. From screening and classes before surgery to check-in on the day of surgery to inpatient recovery and rehabilitation – you'll find everything conveniently housed in a single location at the AnMed Health North Campus.

  • Arthroscopic Surgery – We offer that latest arthroscopy techniques that allow our orthopedic surgeons to see inside your joints to diagnose and treat problems. One of the advantages to these procedures is that they are minimally invasive and recovery is much easier when compared to traditional open surgical procedures.

  • MAKO Robotic-Assisted Surgery – MAKO technology provides surgeons with patient-specific 3-D models to pre-plan knee and hip replacements. Our surgeons guide the MAKO robotic arm during surgery, based on a patient-specific plan. MAKO technology helps with the removal of diseased bone, preserving healthy bone and assists our surgeons in positioning the implant based on the patient’s anatomy.

  • Advanced Imaging Services – Our radiologists and radiology technicians work in partnership with you and your orthopedist to ensure you receive the highest quality images. After your MRI or X-ray, your radiologist will promptly upload your images into your electronic medical record so your physician may review them with you.

  • Rehabilitation – Whether you’ve suffered an injury or have had surgery, orthopedic rehabilitation is vital to restoring strength and full range of motion to your musculoskeletal system. Our outpatient rehab patients enjoy spacious workout areas with the latest equipment and highly trained therapists at Evolve Physical Therapy, which is conveniently located in the same building as AnMed Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
